Remember from lesson 5 that Am stands for A Minor. When you see "Am" you say "A Minor."
This describes the chords color. Just like C and C7 are different. A and Am are different. A minor chord is a sadder sounding chord. In our chord progression we are going to use F, C, and Am.
Notice how close F and Am are in shape. If you make the F chord then to get to Am all you have to do is lift your 1st finger. This is a very easy chord change. The challenge is throwing C into the progression.
Use this chord practice video to get comfortable with the chord changes. Soon we can play some popular tunes!!!
For your green belt test you won't be playing a song. You will being playing a chord progression that is just like the end of the chord practice video. You can take it at your own speed but I am looking for chord CLARITY as you are making these quick changes. You will beat strum the chord. When you see "C / / /" that means you strum the C chord 4 times/beats.
Here is your green belt chord progression.
