There are different sizes and types of ukulele. Soprano is the smallest and highest. The Baritone is tuned differently and lower.
I often use a concert or tenor ukulele. I prefer the tenor because it is a little bigger and more comfortable to play.
Be able to lable the parts of the ukulele
The strings are labeled by numbers (counting bottom to top) 1 2 3 and 4.
They also have letter names:
4th string (top): G
3rd string: C
2nd string:E
1st string (bottom): A
Your left hand will do the work on the frets and your right hand picks and strums. Your pointer on each hand is labled 1 to your pinky which is 4. This is important to know because I may give instructions like "Put your 1st finger on the 2nd fret"
